Introduction to Career with Purpose

Welcome to Career with purpose, a program designed to help grade 10 to 12 high school students explore their future careers and discover the problems they are passionate about solving, both in the world and in their communities. Using the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as our guiding framework, this course will empower you to connect your interests to global challenges and identify meaningful opportunities for impact.

Through interactive lessons, discussions, and hands-on activities, you’ll gain the tools and insights needed to make informed decisions about your academic and career paths. Whether you’re drawn to combating climate change, promoting gender equality, or improving education systems, this program will help you envision how your unique skills can contribute to creating a better future.

Program Objectives:

1. Explore Career Opportunities through Global Challenges: You’ll be introduced to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, learning how each goal addresses a significant global problem. By connecting these goals to potential career paths, you’ll gain a broader understanding of how your future profession can drive positive change.
2. Identify Personal Strengths and Interests: Through self-assessment exercises, you’ll discover your strengths, interests, values, and the top three problems you’d want to help solve. We’ll guide you in mapping these to real-world challenges, helping you to visualize a career that aligns with both your passions and the needs of society.
3. Inspire Community Impact: Beyond global issues, this program encourages you to think locally. By identifying pressing issues in your community and exploring ways you can contribute, you’ll understand how the skills and knowledge you acquire in class can lead to solutions that benefit those closest to home.
