Program Overview

The Career with Purpose program is designed to support high school students as they explore future career paths through the lens of purpose, values, and impact. Rather than starting with job titles, this program begins by helping students reflect on who they are, what they care about, and the problems they feel called to help solve—both in their communities and in the world.

Guided by the Impactful Career Pyramid and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), students learn how their interests, abilities, and learning connect to real-world challenges. The program encourages a problem-solving mindset, helping students see education not just as subjects in a classroom, but as tools to equip them for meaningful work and service.

Through self-paced modules, real-life examples, and gamified assessments, students gain clarity and confidence in making career decisions. Whether a student is passionate about caring for the earth, advancing justice, improving education, or strengthening communities, Career with Purpose helps them explore how their unique skills and interests can contribute to a better future.

Program Objectives

• Understand Purpose-Driven Career Decision-Making – Students learn what to consider when choosing a career path, including values, faith, balance, and long-term impact—rather than focusing solely on income or status.
• Explore Careers Through Global and Local Challenges – Students are introduced to the 17 SDGs and explore how each goal addresses real global and societal problems. By connecting these challenges to careers across industries, students gain a broader understanding of how work can be a platform for positive change.
• Identify Strengths, Interests, and Talents – Through self-assessment and reflection, students discover their interests, and values. They are guided in mapping these to real-world problems, helping them visualize career paths and professions that align personal purpose with service to others.
• Inspire Community and Local Impact – Beyond global challenges, students are encouraged to look closely at their own communities. By identifying local needs and exploring ways to contribute, students learn early how their education and skills can be used to create meaningful solutions close to home.

This course has 17 single modules and four thematic groups (modules grouped by theme).  Each module will take approximately 45 minutes. There will be a mixture of written content, interactive questions, internet searches, and workbook activities. To attain a certificate of completion, students will be required to complete the modules based on their career path of interest.
